Imperial Craft
TIE Craft
TIE Series starfighters, designed by Sienar Fleet Systems, were simply nothing more than a cockpit with weapons on the front and an engine in the rear. Designed with minimum systems needed to function, this led to a design that was both fast and inexpensive to build and replace.
A common component design allowed a large family of similar craft used for different mission profiles. TIE craft lacked key systems such as deflector shields, hyperdrives or comprehensive life support, which gives the craft its high speed and powerful laser cannons, but made the craft reliant on a capital ship for an operations base.

TIE/ln space superiority starfighter The TIE/ln space superiority starfighter was a short-range fighter, 7.24 meters in length, propelled by two P-s3 ion engines, and armed with two SFS L-s1 laser cannons. Used as the mainstay fighter carried on Imperial ships. The lack of combat shields, hyperdrive, and life-support systems, in concert with the advanced engine design, reduced the mass of the fighter and conferred exceptional maneuverability. This also made them both inexpensive and quick to replace. |

TIE/IN interceptor The TIE/IN interceptor was faster and more heavily armed, they make up 20% of the Empire's starfighter fleet. Equipped with four L-s9.3 laser cannons, one installed on each wingtip, fielded P-s5.6 twin ion engines, allowing pilots access to more sophisticated combat maneuvers. |

TIE/sa bomber The TIE/sa bomber had two hulls next to each other; the starboard hull carried the pilot, and the port carried a pair of general-purpose warhead launchers, enabling them to carry a variety of weapons tailored for the mission. Armament included 2 laser cannons, 2 proton torpedo launchers: 4 torpedoes each, 2 concussion missile launchers 8 missiles each. Bomb bay (variable load): orbital mines, proton bombs, Thermal detonators. |

TIE/br boarding shuttle The TIE/br boarding shuttle was designed to carry passengers (six seated and four standing, using ceiling- and wall-mounted handgrips to keep their balance). In addition to a retractable boarding ramp, the front of the portside pod featured a large, also retractable docking claw with a military-grade laser cutter, which allowed the crew to breach and rush into a captured or disabled vessel. The starboard pod featured a transparisteel viewport and housed the cockpit, which was manned by a single pilot. Like the port-side pod, it could hold ten passengers. |

TIE/rc starfighter The TIE/rc reconnaissance starfighter carried enhanced sensors that allowed it to range ahead of the main force and relay pre-engagement reconnaissance data back with its improved communication equipment. These small ships were often deployed in crowded areas where larger vessels could not operate (e.g. asteroid fields), or were sent to scout ahead for starfighter forces. Standard procedure for long-range TIE reconnaissance missions involved the carrying vessel dropping a TIE/rc squadron into a system, then jumping to hyperspace, ensuring its safety. The TIEs would race through the system, gathering data, before meeting the carrier at a rendezvous point elsewhere in the system. There was an upgraded variant of the TIE/rc known as the TIE Vanguard. The Vanguard was equipped with shields, and its solar radiators were bent out order to increase sensor visibility. |

TIE/fc starfighter The TIE/fc fire control starfighter, was a variant of the TIE/LN starfighter, it carried only one laser cannon, as several sensors replaced the second laser cannon. The TIE/gt starfighter was designed to be dependent on the precise targeting information provided by the TIE/fc starfighter. The TIE/fc was primarily designed to scan an enemy base and transmit the information back to the fleet. The fleet ships would then be able to attack the base and evade the enemy's defenses. Because of its importance, the craft was designed to be very maneuverable. |

TIE/fc starfighter The TIE/gt ground-targeting bomber, had an enlarged and reinforced hull, as well as an elongated cockpit to accommodate the starfighter's ordnance bay. The TIE/gt was armed with a single laser cannon, and a concussion missile launcher which was designed to be modular to handle variable mission payloads. Standard TIE/gt fighter payloads consisted of twelve concussion missiles, but the launcher could handle other speciality payloads, including six proton torpedoes, eighteen air-deployed mines, two cluster bombs, or 20,000 plastic leaflets. TIE/gt was generally replaced with heavier bomber such as the TIE/sa bomber. |

TIE/sh shuttle The TIE/sh shuttle, also known as the TIE Command Shuttle, was a model of armored shuttle. It was designed to transport Imperial officers plus a squad of stormtroopers between Imperial-class Star Destroyers. Two-pod configuration: the starboard pod served as the cockpit, and the portside pod carried passengers, protected by heavy armor plating. Beneath each pod were deflector shield generators, a rarity among TIE models. For additional defense, the shuttle was also equipped with two laser cannons, mounted on the underside between the two pods. |

TIE/ad Avenger Multi-Role Starfighter The TIE/ad Avenger one of the first production starfighters to break away from the Imperial doctrine of quantity over quality with the inclusion of deflector shields, a hyperdrive, and warhead launchers. It was also significantly faster and more maneuverable than any existing Imperial or Rebel starfighter. TIE Avenger's primary weapon system were four laser cannons mounted on the front tips of the radiator arrays. Two warhead launchers with magazine capacity of four concussion missiles each; or loaded with three proton torpedoes, two heavy rockets, or one space bomb. Tractor beam/jamming beam. TIE/d Defender Starfighter The TIE/d "Defender" Multi-Role Starfighter featured a hyperdrive as well as deflector shields, and was easily recognized by its three wings mounted around an aft section of the cockpit. The TIE Defender was considered a fighter-bomber; it was armed with six L-s9.3 laser cannons, CLL-3 Ion Torpedoes, and concussion missiles. It was developed from a prototype called the TIE Advanced x7. |

TIE/IT Interdictor starfighter/ TIE/ca "Punisher" Heavy Bomber The TIE/IT Interdictor's command module was flanked on both sides by a pair of ordnance pods, for a total of four. They could also include enhanced sensors. The ship was piloted by one individual, and was equipped with shields, largely to ensure that their payload arrived at their destination. The armor was stronger than other TIE models, but the craft did not include a hyperdrive. The TIE Interdictor was armed with linked laser cannons and ordnance pods, able to carry 12 concussion missiles, homing missiles or proton torpedos. The ship also had twin linked versions of the TIE/sa bomber's proton bomb bays. Their ordnance could also be expanded to include plasma torpedoes, flechette torpedoes, advanced homing missiles, cluster mines, and ion bombs. |

Alpha-class Xg-1 Star Wing The Alpha-class Xg-1 Star Wing equipped with deflector shields and a hyperdrive, was useful for long range patrols or raids against convoys and space stations. The Star Wing was armed with two chin mounted laser cannons, two ion cannons above the cockpit, and a pair of general purpose warhead launchers. The standard payload was sixteen concussion missiles, eight per launcher, alternatively could carry twelve proton torpedoes, eight heavy rockets, or four heavy space bombs. |
